Convert BLEND to STL

Convert BLEND files to STL in seconds. Geometry, UVs and materials are carried over where STL supports them, and the model lands the right way up.

  • Geometry, UVs and materials kept where supported
  • Correct orientation and scale

How to convert BLEND to STL

  1. Add your BLEND file

Drop it on the converter above or click browse. It opens in your browser, so nothing is uploaded.

  2. Check the format is STL

STL is already selected. You can switch to any other output from the menu.

  3. Convert and download

Click Convert and your STL file is ready in seconds. Download it straight away.

What is BLEND?

BLEND is Blender's own project file, holding every object, material and modifier in a scene. Our reader opens files from Blender 2.4 up to Blender 5, including compressed ones, and applies Mirror and Subdivision modifiers the way Blender does.

Full name
Blender project file
Type
3D scene (meshes, materials)
Used in
Blender
Strength
Lets you share a Blender model with people who do not use Blender.
Limits
Only Blender opens it; modifiers other than Mirror and Subdivision are not applied.

What is STL?

STL describes a surface as a list of triangles, with no colour, material or unit information. It is the default file for 3D printing and is exported by almost every CAD and modelling program.

Full name
Stereolithography
Type
Triangle mesh
Used in
Cura, PrusaSlicer, Bambu Studio, Blender, Fusion 360, SolidWorks
Strength
Universal support in 3D printing software.
Limits
Only triangles: no colours, no materials, no units, no editable CAD features.

Good to know

Blender files from every version since 2.4 open here, including Blender 4 and 5 and compressed files. Mirror and Subdivision Surface modifiers are applied the way Blender applies them; other modifiers are noted after conversion.

Questions

Do I need Blender installed?

No. We read the .blend file directly in your browser, including files from Blender 4 and 5.

Are materials and textures kept?

Colours and texture coordinates are carried over when STL supports them. STL does not store textures, so only the geometry carries over.

Will my model be upside down?

No. BLEND and STL may use different "up" directions, and we rotate the model so it stands the same way in your software.

Are my files uploaded?

No. The conversion runs inside your browser.
